Towing FD on trailer
 

Just looking for any solid advice on tying down an FD on a car hauler. Searched and found a few items but would appreciate any input anyone may have on selection of tie down points on third gens.

I am also selling my tire trailer for $325 if anyone is interested.

I use the toe hooks for the front and axle wraps for the back.

The best way is probably using front to back wheel wraps so your cars susp is free which would allow for a better ride. I don't use them because they are exp and take too long to put on.

the FD doesn't have rear hooks? That sucks.. The FC has tow hook points front and rear to tie down to.

I use 4 tie down. and run through each tie down to eatch wheels and to D ring and what ever is nice and solid.

i thought it did have hooks on the back?

Use the front tow hooks in the front and crisscross them and use axel straps in the back thru the sub fram as Fritz suggested. I only tow my FD and that has worked for 5 yeard now with never a problem

Guys, use tie downs from M&R twist strap hooks (http://www.mrproducts.com/ratchwheelstraps.htm). Then you can use the factory frame oval slots just like they tie down on the boat over and on freight trucks. Look under you car, there are two in front on the 'frame rails' and in the rear just in front of your rear wheels. Criss cross and you are done. I've towed thousands of miles like this. This way the stress is off your suspension and to the monocoque which is the preferred way to tie down. The factory built them in, use them.
