Timing.....IS MazdaTrix Wrong?

So my freind called MazdaTrix about his street ported engine he just built for an autocross car and they tell him that stock timing is what all factory injected rotories should run. They claim that if you start deviating from the stock setting then it also throws off the injector timing. Is this true....alll the non-ported guys, and myself, in the ITS class run around 26*. If I go stock I believe there is a substantial power loss. What gives?

They have to be talking about FC,s or cars that use an FC Computer/ign system. And yes they are correct.

The FC CAS provides the timing signal for both Injection and ign. If you just turn the cas (factory computer) then you will be altering the timing of injection events. There is no way to alter just the IGN timing without additional hardware.

This obviously doesn't apply to after market computers where you can adjust the timing to whatever you desire. This would also apply to FD's, except that FD timing is essentially not adjustable at the trigger wheel like an FC.

they are correct, moving the CAS, changes ignition and fuel timing.

BUT

does it F-ing matter if the injectors are 5 degrees off? even at idle playing with this setting on a haltech doesnt do much....

I had the same type of fun thats why I don't want to deal with my car now

that is what I thought, what does it matter if the injectors are a bit off, the fuel has a relativly long way to travel. Just found it odd that they tell me anything but stock is bad. Thanks fellas!!
