Strong fuel odor

I have an 83' RX-7 ITA car. I replaced the odds and ends fuel lines with nice aeroquip braided stainless/ fitting and a nice cartridge fuel filter from the fuel cell forward. My problem is if I park it in an enclosed space, in about an hour, I get a very strong gas odor smell. No leaks whatsoever, anywhere! Carb is a racing Nikki from 7's only. Car runs very strong w/ no issues. Odor seems to be coming from the engine bay. This started after I replaced the lines. Vent on fuel cell is closed as before replacing the lines. I'm at a loss. Cartridge filter is at carb level or slightly higher. Fuel float levels are at normal, half level. Any guesses?

Anybody? Can the carb vent fumes w/o overflowing the bowls? I know the accel pump is fed through the rear float chamber. Can the pump somehow vent but still work?

you know what, I have the same issue. I made a custom swirl tank with aeroquip fittings and starlite hose from russell. Pressure tested the system and no leaks. But just like you after the car has been park, the whole interior smells like gas.

Im going to check my gas tank cover gasket, it may have shifted. Or ill redo everything with hardline instead...ive been chasing my tail on this one too.

I think I found mine. One of the Aeroquip fittings has a bad seal where the nut gets turned down on the hose. That stainless braid seems to hide small leaks. I wound up checking each fitting with tissue paper to be sure I could find the smallest amount of fluid.
