stock FD springs / koni shocks

anyone running stock FD springs with koni shocks? i was thinking about running this and wanted some input as to if the stock springs are going to be too soft for autocrossing...

anyone have any input on this?

I ran that exact setup for several years. It's a great combo.

I now have stiffer springs and shock and the car does lean a lot less... but guess what... lap times are basically unchanged.

DamonB has that setup and does extemely well with those.

thanks for the input guys! i guess i'll add this to the list of mods for the spring :)

I've been running that setup for about five years. Won SS again this year with it ;)

Konis were the first suspension mod I ever made to my base model and the car became much quicker on the autox course. And that was back when I couldn't drive :p:

Yes the car rolls and leans around but that doesn't mean it's going slow. The stopwatch is what counts. I'm not interested in trying to impress people with how cool my car is, just in how fast it goes. It never attracts attention from other FD people until it goes fast.

On the other hand I know that I would go faster with stiffer springs. How much faster? I dunno. Probably not much but I'd feel better when doing it. This car nearly stock and properly setup is already very fast though.

I have that setup as well, dont autocross much since I dont fit with a helmet though. When I do autocross though it feels alot better than the stock shocks did.

this seems to be a pretty popular setup...

I've been running KONI's and stock springs for four years. I've got new compression's in the front and used compression/rebound from GH Sharp's old car in the rear.

Not only is it a great autocross setup, it's also works well on the street.
