thanks allot guys for the feedback .. i have 1 on the drivers side which is a 4 point . so i will go with another 4 point since it will not ruin my recaro seat. i would like a 5 but not needed at the moment . i appreciate the help guys thanks

4 point harness... also known as the gut buster. You're probably better off with the stock belt than a 4-point belt of doom.

Care to substantiate that statement? For Time trials, and AX I'd rather be in my seat than next to it, but I guess that's just a personal preference ;)
For Road Racing 5, or 6 point are certainly a must have although I've seen quite a few otherwise well prepared HPDE cars running the 4 point when the factory seats are being retained. Carl

The problem with a 4-point is that if you crash into something, as your body is thrown forward in the harness (no matter how tight, as nylon stretches by design to absorb the crash energy) the shoulder belts pull the lap belt up off your thighs (strong meaty things with big bones inside) and onto your gut (soft squishy thing with easily damaged internal components) and thus can cause unpleasant internal injuries. A stock belt won't ride up this way because it's not being pulled up on in the middle, and a 5 or 6 point will not ride up because it's being retained by the anti-sub belt. The anti-sub belt doesn't keep you from sliding out under the belt by grabbing you by the nuts, it keeps you in by pulling the lap part tight against your thighs.

To the original poster: Sparco is cool, but any approved belt is fine. Many sanctioning bodies require replacing your belts every two years now, and getting Sparcos re-webbed might be a pain in the ass.

You could also look into Impact restraints, It's Bill Simpson's new company. I just got one set for my birthday and i'm ordering the passenger set soon. 5 pt independant shoulders pull down type, $114 shipped. Came in under week.
