Series 3 housing twist?

Just wondering if anyone's seen this before.

I found out why my rearend has been leaking, and why it split open at one point... and why my pinion angle is shot all to hell.

The "banjo" where the diff pimpkin bolts in is twisted about 5 degrees "up"! The body is fine, the links aren't tweaked, the housing is twisted like a Twizzler.

Neat-o!

I was wrong. It was up by "only" 3 degrees.

It's probably due to that damn lead foot of yours! :)

Gotta quit launching at 6k :)

What gets me is that I used to do crazier things and never hurt a housing before.

I'd really hate to have to get a heavier duty rearend. I like having a rear that is light enough to be carried around one-handed. Unsprung weight is the enemy.

I've seen it on diesel trucks when they play with the tractor pull cart in the dirt but never on an RX!

Its got to be wheel hop, I'd check the axle splines as well. In fact if you can paint a stripe down your axles(when known to be straight) you can see if they are twisting later.
