Quaife was fairly popular a few years ago. They are out of England. I looked at them in 2000 and was impressed. I am too lazy to search for the website.

id like to know about this too so i can have ideas when i get around to building the race car

HKS and Greddy both used to have 6-Speed as well as sequential gear boxes available a few years ago. It might be worth sending an email to both of them to see if they are still available.

I don't think I wouldn't bother talking with HKSUSA as they probably don't know anything. I would contact HKS Japan.

thanks....
I find this company in Australia www.holinger.com.au
they have one,the RD6 with adaptor for the 13b and 20b...
waiting for info from their USA importer...

Styk33 10-12-07 10:49 PM

Giampiero, let us know what you find out about from the US importer. I am curious as they look to have decent gear boxes. I would really like a sequential dogring setup that I can call out my own ratios. Stock ratios are good for stock torque curves, but not for big singles :(

For the low budget sequential shift action...I love the Ikeya Formula version...this is the best I have seen of it in operation. Suppposedly they used to chunk the shit out of transmissions, but now are much better. This is some crazy drift action, but the shifter is sick. It bolts onto factory trannys, but has the pull back upshift, push forward downshift action. Only seen 'em for Turbo II or FD trannys.

Ikeya is not clutchless (unless you don't care about your transmission :) ).

Xtrack, Hollinger, Quieffe, Hewland, Gertragg all make seq, shift trans. Cheep alterative would be a Jerico with a sequential shift adapter.

Giampiero 10-14-07 01:30 AM

Xtrac,Holinger,Quaife,Hewland,Getrag............

BlowenByTwins 10-14-07 11:27 AM

are any of these clutchless?

Miata_mx5 10-14-07 11:29 AM

R magic has one, i am sure panspeed makes one too.

BlowenByTwins 10-14-07 02:36 PM

drftwerks 10-14-07 04:15 PM

By clutchless due you mean Dog ring? if so proper race boxes such as xtrac,emco,hewland.... will run $15,000+

and that silly bolt on shifter for the stock gearbox......are you serious? whats the point of a sequential shifter on a syncro box???

TrentO 10-16-07 05:44 PM

8-10K for a good, dog ring sequential gear box. I looked a bit into the Saenz boxes as they seemed a good value. The best cheaper option is probably the G-force T-5 Dog ring gear set. It isn't sequential, but the ratios map over to a road race car pretty good. For $3000 it seems pretty solid.

T5 tranny to Mazda bellhousing adapters.

The G-Force isn't a 1:1 5th, but hey, for the savings you can always just run a different rear end gear to make up the difference.

John Magnuson 10-16-07 09:41 PM

You can sometimes find a used Jerico from one of the roundy round stock car guys for a reasonable price. Everything else is super expensive.

eastcoastbumps 10-18-07 01:39 AM

I have a friend with a T-5 dog box in his 240SX. He said it was way cheaper to go that route than to get a set of dog gears for his Nissan transmission. I'd suspect the same is true for the Mazda transmissions.

OS giken make really nice ones also

the GT-R's use them in drag alot ..

called OS-88 Version 2
