Second Gen Owners with aftermarket oil cooler lines
I was hoping someone could do me a big favor and take some measurements of their lines.
Ideally i'd like someone with the racing beat lines but if you have other lines of the same style (ie ones that do not use a banjo bolt) i'd appreciate those as well. Here is what I need from you: Size of the fittings all 4: 1 out from pan 1 into oil cooler 1 out from oil cooler 1 into oil pan Length of line to oil cooler Length of line away from oil cooler measure the amount of line showing please and then the Size on the line, everything i've found says -10 but I'd just like to verify. I know this is a lot to ask but if anyone can do this i'd be indebted to you and would gladly share some information you'd like from me down the road once my car is completed ( or at least this phase of it...) On a seperate not I've noticed my cooler has a small dent in it. I'll post a picture tommorow when I can borrow a digital camera to get everyone's opinion. |

the conclusion at the end of the how-to was that it is not really worth the time & effort to make them but I guess it's good to know how :) good luck! |
I posted a list of all the part numbers and prices you will need and where to buy them. If you do a search they should be out there, I am not sure where they ended up.
As far as making custom lines, the costs are cheaper then buying them from MazdaTrix. The Corksport units would be the cheapest way to go if you do not need to add any length to the lines. I made mine because I wanted the experience and also I added length to clear my radiator. If you can't find the thread here, I posted it on teamfc3s as well. Best of luck! |

i tryed to make my own but that didnt go so well.they kept busting on me so i went to BENZ hydrolics and he made me some lines for $65 a piece.he said they would out last my car or he would replace them for free.he just used the same ends.and they would hold up to 450psi in each line. that was about the best thing i ever did for my car.just take off your lines and drop them off at a hydrolic shop. later, jason

I've assembled lines before and haven't had leaking problems. I just wanted to know what siaze fittings the other companies were using because i have yet to remove the oil cooler and figure it all out on my own. but thanks for the suggestions. I need better flow to and from the cooler hense the bigger lines. The banjo bolts are the most restrictive part of the stock lines.
