rules and regs for FC's in scca ITS?

rules and regs for FC's in scca ITS? I would like to know this but i dont want to pay $30 from the scca website for the rules and regs and i cant find complete list of what's allowed and whats not allowed. If anybody here can help me out that would be great

RussTypeS 10-08-03 08:15 AM

guess what, you have to. what sucks worse is you have to (or are supposed to anyway) buy the new GCR every year. i have the 2001 GCR on pdf somewhere, but i would just shell out the cash and buy the updated book as the rules do change every year.

PaulyDee 10-08-03 09:07 AM

It would take quite a bit of typing to get all the rules in ITS here. I will give you some of the important ones.

driveline:
No porting
Any exhaust system
Any intake forward of the MAF sensor
No emissions equipment required
Any diff ratio as long as it stas in the stock case
The GTUs tranny can be used (with shorter 5th)

Suspension
Any shock as long as it's not a threaded body, and Ground Control coilover setup with adjustable camber plates
Any sway bar (front or rear)
Max rim size 15X7

Interior
Everything can come out except dash
Door panels can be removed if .060 aluminum is used to replace them.

Safety
6 point roll cage required with side protection
5 point harness
fire extinguisher
master electrical cutoff switch

There is a lot more odds and ends, but the above is a start. If you have any questions you can PM me any time.

christaylor 10-08-03 05:45 PM

All the updates are online, so the trick is to find somebody with their 2003 (or 2004, it's coming up quick!) and get their old GCR. Most people won't mind getting rid of them, or you can pick one up for a beer or something similar. Then you can look at the updates and see what (if anything) pertains to the ITCS.

But before you turn a wheel on the track, you have to have the latest GCR. If you want my opinion, wait for the 2004 to come out (if it isn't already) and do what I mentioned above for building the car.

Silkworm 10-08-03 07:00 PM

Pauly pretty much laid it out, but there's some important rules that you really need the rule book for. You'll need to shell out the cash.
