Rotor Measurements
 

OK, so after seeing the E&J billet rotors and Mazdatrix Billet rotor, I have been kicking the idea around in my head to make my own set and was hoping some of you could help me out with the measurements.

I also have a question regarding Rotor radius measurements, in the link attached here:http://rotarynews.com/node/view/1050 , it talks about "R prime = R+a", would "R" be measurement "J" in my drawing? and would "a" be the apex seal stick-out from the rotor face?

Required Measurements

A= Rotor bearing Journel (Not the bearing I.D.)
B= Rotor Gear Journel
C= Inner Oil Seal Groove I.D.
D= Inner Oil seal Groove O.D.
E= Outer Oil Seal Groove I.D.
F= Outer Oil Seal Groove O.D.
G= Distance Between Rotor Face and Outside of Side Seal Groove
H= Distance Between Center of Bearing Journel and Bottom of Apex Seal Groove
I= Distance Between Center of Bearing Journel and Center of Corner Seal Groove
J= Distance between Center of Bearing Journel and Rotor Apex
K= Depth of Rotor Gear Journel
L= Depth of Inner Oil Seal Groove
M= Depth of Outer Oil Seal Groove
N= Depth of Side Seal Groove
O= Depth of Corner Seal Groove

Well that sould be all the measurements I would need, any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I would be somewhat concerned with material growth and the tolerances required, as these dimensions and tolerances may only be discovered after a fair amount of testing.

I know I was going to look into the thermal expansion rates and all that but right now this would be more of a time killing exercise than anything else.

This has been tried a few times, no one is going to give up the measurements to you. Really, not to be an ass, but if you have the skill to make a rotor, you have plenty of know how to take some measurements and lay one out.

Are you a machinist? Have a CNC?

yes, but I don't have any rotors laying around to take measurements from, I was going to use something called e-machineshop to draw it up
