Rotella T6 for racing rotaries?

I have been using royal purple for years. Always been happy but the stuff is so bloody expensive...and the XPR race oil plus shipping is just downright robbery...

I have used Rotella in the past on street vehicles and never heard a bad word said about the stuff. Now that the T6 is available at wal-mart I am thinking of trying it in the race car.

Anyone using the 5w-40 T6 Rotella in a road race / enduro engine? (assuming no OMP) Experiences? Thoughts?

Please no discussions about weight (I run lighter weight oils in my engines for many reasons i don't wish to debate).

we used to run just regular oil in ours, and we didn't have problems, we did up to 3 hour races too

I run it in everything I own. I track my car pretty regularly and still have the OMP connected. So far so good.

I use Redline 30wt race oil. In the turbo car (s6 motor) I use 5-30 valvoline OR Redline, whichever I have on hand when I change the oil.
Have used Eneos 0-45 and 0-50wt oils without issue.

Your not using a lightweight oil if your using 5w-40, as when the engine is at operating temp the oil is 40wt which is on the heavy side if you ask me ;)

Agreed. But i was trying to avoid the ignorant argument that race motors need 20w-50 or else they will blow up...

I want to go to a 0-20 but again, i'm trying to settle on a readily available attractively priced synthetic instead of ordering the expensive stuff all the time...

I get a fair deal on Redline stuff and can likely have it shipped from my warehouse to you for not a lot of cash...may or may not save you any real money but if I can help I will.

I use Rotella T3 5-40 in my track car, last engine tear down had no abnormal wear. The T6 is a step better, I would run it over royal purple in a heartbeat.
