Reusing parts after an engine fire

Not sure where to put this, but figured this was the best section.

I had a FC with a built engine that caught on fire and burned completely (not sure reason, but I think it was oil from the turbo). What in the engine can I reuse? Obviously the rotor housings are toast, but what about the irons?

How about internals - rotors (race clearanced), counterweights, e-shaft, stat gears (rx8 units machined for fc)? I would think apex seals would be good (goopy seals with less than 2k miles). How about the Flywheel? It was an act chromoly (pro-lite?). It also had a stud kit.

I realize the answer may be not to use anything, but I'm hoping at least some of it can be salvaged.

Thanks in advance.

all of the fire cars ive seen the engine is completely fine, although you do need to make sure no crap got into it.

its the wiring/injectors/vacuum lines/sensors that need to be replaced.

I mean if it got so hot that the aluminum intakes melted thats one thing, but if it just burned all the wiring and plastic stuff then it should be good.

I bought an automatic s4 RX7 that had an engine fire just after getting an atkins rebuild. I put that motor in a 1st gen and it has been the backup, backup daily driver for the entire family for the last 10 years and 30k miles.

It was pretty hot. It melted the aluminum hood, but the intake manifold looked fine. It did melt some of the end tank on the v-mount intercooler and melted a small hole in the compressor housing on the turbo. It also melted the aluminum wheels, especially in the downwind side. Here's pics for reference.

I don't have any illusions that I ran reuse the rotor housings, mainly interested in the stat gears and full rotating assembly.

One more question - this engine has a stud kit. Would it be OK to reuse?

probably, you will find out, but the engine is probably totally fine on the inside, you have to keep in mind that when its running its basically on fire so more fire doesn't matter

All heat treated metals will be ruined. This would mean nuts, bolts, studs, engine parts suspension parts etc. Under normal conditions, the housings would not get that hot due to the coolant, but in a fire, the temps could push it out of the correct temp range and ruin the heat treatment.
