Rear track width
Hello all,
I will try to make this quick. Rear track width. Wider = more side grip or less? Same tire, same camber, same suspension blah blah. My front is 100 mm wider on each side (200 total) from extended LCA and 2 inch wheel spacer, and I am having trouble having the rear come out and stay out at low speeds. High speed is fine. Would widening the rear end help lessen the rear "side" bite? Thanks. |
wider track reduces load transfer, ergo more grip. but hey, more grip is betterer right?

Naaa, my issue right now is I can't drift slowly only super high speeds with a lot of inertia. Looking at lowering my side/slide grip while keeping my go forward grip the same. I can't slow down or let off the throttle for a second to hit the ebrake without straightening out. :/
A few of the websites I have seen (mainly karting websites) say to get more bite, shorten the width, to lessen extend. But that's all I got right now. Here is an example of my wide front. (Sorry for the drift question in the race tech section, I consider it more of an advanced race question.) Stock track width front/rear is: 57.1"/56.7" So mine is at least, 61.1"/56.7". My front track width is 64.1" not 61. |
