Radiator setup!!
hey guys, im doing a v8 swap in my 1988 rx7 fc. the only part im stuck on is the cooling system. i have a pretty decent deal on a aluminum fc radiator but i dont know if it will be enough cooling capacity! can anyone tell me the best route to go for this?? im doing a chevy 5.3 Vortec. any help will be appreciated!!
Thanks |
Southwest speed sells a Chevy race radiator for around 100 bucks (used to be off flea bay) and its a 3" dual pass that is actually made for them by griffin.
That would be a great start... you WILL have to weld in your own rad mounts. I forget the dimensions.. but measure the stock rad.. they sell one thats really close just thicker and dual pass. |

well the radiator i can get is a 3 core aluminum. direct bolt up, you think it will have enough cooling capacity?
If you do a lot of stop and go around town driving, then make sure to have a good fan on it. Like a SPAL pusher in front of the rad, or something similar with high CFM. |
Do they make Koyo for N/A? I was told at the parts store they didn't :( Sorry didn't hit search and feel like I might get flamed for this.

I guess they do. Sorry should have looked harder before asking.
