racing watkins glen

wondering if anyone out there has raced an IT car at the glen, I going to the regional and wonder if my 4.88 rear end will be tall enough, and any advice you may have
Thank You

I don't race, but I have done HPDEs at WGI with an FD. The only piece of relevant info I can give you is that you are 100% WOT from turn1 to the bus-stop on the back straight away. It's a long distance so if you have HP you will see some big top end speeds.

Hope this helps.

What 5th gear ratio do you have?
What diameter tires are you using?

If you are referring to an ITS 2nd gen (I have a 4.88 with a fresh speedsource motor) you will be 3/4 up the long straight hitting 8700 rpm in 4th, when you shift to 5th the rpms will continue to drop all the way to the bus stop. So it makes no sense to shift to 5th just hold it at or near your red line until you brake for the bus stop. 5th will be easier on the motor but slower. You won't need 5th anywhere else on the track. I was running high 2:17s.
