I got an idea of a few i want.. So how does helmet fitting work??

For autocrossing i's suggest a cheapie M2000 motorcycle helmet. If you go to track days and such later on, you'll want a more expensive full face helmet.

Get a Pyrotect (http://www.pyrotect.com/home.php), they have M/SA2005 out and are very cheap. I was told they are made by the same manufacturer as Bell.

Almost all track days or driving schools require SA rated helmets, so if you think you'll want to go to one in the future, don't waste your money on an M rated helmet, unless you want 2 helmets.

My suggestion is to find the best fitting helmet you can afford. Pyrotect and G-force have very good price points. But ultimately cost should not be the deciding factor, because the fit is the most important. If you don't have a local shop to try the helmet contact the companies when purchasing and find out what their return policy is. I know Pyrotect will let you return the helmet if you don't like the fit. I would also suggest the close face helmet as well as an SA rated model. Personally I use a Bell Vortex FA currently but I have used the Simpson Voyager as well.
