maybe post in the rotary performance section...

aggressive porting isn't necessary, i have seen dyno sheets of guys running near or abover 500RWHP on stock ports. most of the gains are from the turbo but having a decent port is always a plus.

just from reading the post it sounded like you thought big ports unleash an engine, they will give it a bump but they will not open it's cage, a big turbo and standalone does that.

"Race porting" doesn't tell us jack shit.
You need to be a little more descriptive on what you are trying to describe.
First tell us if it's a street, bridge, or peripheral porting...

Im assuming with a "race port" he is refering to a bridge. Thats at least was I could consider one.

"Race port" is typically used to describe a very large street port from the shops that I have talked to. Modest street ports yield nice power gains for street cars without much loss in drivability. Race ports are street ports that are big enough to start adversely affecting drivability, but are just the ticket for racing classes that allow streetports but not bridgeports. Only GT and above classes allow more than a streetport for the most part.

Agreed!:)

The race engine builders know exactly what a "race" street port is.
