Please post pics of 2nd gen. custom dashes/wiring setups/interior removal.

I am prepping my 86 gxl for auto-X and possibly IT racing in the distant future. Pease post pics of process of gutting interior/removing dash and accessory removal under dash. I would also like to see aluminum dash set ups. Also custom wiring harness pics would be appreciated. Thanks

You'd probably want to think real hard about what you want to do with the car in the future, Aluminum dashes are illegal in most Auto-x classes, and definitely in IT.. Not to mention that street ported motor :)

Info on my car, including pics of gutting:

Yeah I know I think I may make this into a fun car for some street and open track days. Once I set a goal of 2200 lbs. my mind could only think of removing as much as possible and not where I would be legal. Ihave already took out interior so there is no turning back now. Hey I can always go to E-mod. Thanks again for the pics.:p:

Just run in FPrepared. You don't want any interior there anyway. As long as you don't turbo or supercharge your car you can stay in FP. If you don't have an SCCA Solo I/II Rules Book I would recommend that before you do anymore to your car. The GCR is good to have also.

I know I am probaly looking like an idiot but what is GCR? As far as the dash goes I may remove metal tubing underneath and remount. I guess I am still working on what to remove under the dash up to the firewall.

GCR stands for Gneral Competition Rules, Published by the SCCA : Sports Car Communists of America.

You want to read some funny crap from some REAL WHINERS, go to their website and read the protests to the national board!!!!

Smokey Yunick RULES!!!

PM VaughnC and see if he still has my pics on his harddrive. He posted them for me last time before my harddrive "blew an apex seal".;)
