Pics of trailer tire racks????
Well, loading tires into the back of the truck is getting old very fast, and a welded tire rack is much needed. We would like to have one which holds the tires across the top as usual, and also have 2 bins or something for the canopy poles to go in. Does anyone have pictures of your tire racks on your trailer so my dad and me can get some basic designs and ideas?

Not a very good picture you can't see the entire tire rack, but you get the idea. Yea and that's my beautiful ITA car.:D

I had a TII once that was pretty tweaked up front and was thinking of doing that.. It looks great.. Well done. SPiN |

Thanks. It's quite a head-turner on the freeway too, as you might imagine. I built it for the Grassroots Motorsports Challenge, but now write full-time for Driving Sports magazine. Just the other day, I decided to to an article on building tire/tool trailers for track-day and autocross cars. Probably focus on commercial utility trailers, like those offered by Harbor Freight, but I'll work this one in there as an "advanced" example. Very good possibility that I will also do an article on building a conventional trailer for car hauling behind a truck...a rotary truck, of course. :)

This is a bare bones Northern Tool utility trailer that I modified. I welded together a tire rack then welded it to the trailer. The trunk was bought at Walmart for like $30.

kllr13b,
Where did you get the reciever? Brand? Cost? Also, did it mount to stock bolt locations or did you have to drill thru the bumper? |
