My brain ... it's going to explode. Too many derivations .... ugh. I felt like I was in diffy screw all over again (Differential Equations - higher level math course, for you non-engineering types). Information overload ....

I'll stick with calculating wheel rate and the expertise of people who are faster than me. :)

Forget all that math. "finding the line is an art form", quote from the end of a part which analyzed proper line position TO THE MAX. He could not make a conclusive answer.

i would say its a combination. the physics can get you pretty close, but the final minute adjustments are by feel.

it's fun to understand the physics anyways.
