Nitto NT-01 vs Toyo Ra-1
I've done lots of track time on the Ra-1's and they have been great. Good Grip, Good feedback, good wear, etc. I know a guy running the Nitto NT-01's and he loves them. Any of you guys running them? Or thoughts?
BTW, heres a video of my FD from the past weekend at PIR. Please right click and save as. http://www.darkslide750.com/video/RX7_NasaTT_5-5-07.wmv |
A guy on the miata.net forums named emilio700 has ran both, and much prefers the NT-01. Slightly faster, no need to shave them, otherwise very similiar.

Don't forget. They are both from the same company. Toyo owns Nitto tire. It might all be marketing.

What's the cost diff?
RA1's in 225/50R15 are around $150/ea. How do the Nitto's stack up? -bill |

275/40/17 $197. I was wanting to try a different 100 treadwear tire. I'd heard before they were made at the same location, but the tread pattern on the NT-01 seems better for dry surfaces. I always shave the Ra-1's anyway. The only guy I know who ran them loved them vs the RA-1's. I was kinda looking for people ran both, lap times, wear, etc.

I get the Toyo's for $180 in the 275/40/17, before shaving @$15.

we have used and tested the nt01 on a couple of our cars including our world challenge mazda 6 the only diference we found is that the nt01 starts getting greasy after 60% of tire wear and start fading meanwhile the ra1 will stay the same even after its been corded ra1 not the fastest tire out there but good to the last drop .... acording to the guy who desinged the toyo ra1 he made that tire for the budget racer in mind and thats how the ra1 came to be, he is also the owner of the shop that i run , so if you guys have any ? on the ra1 or nitto tires feel free to give him a call , just log into www.wheelstores.com and look @ the history part of our shity website lol

Wow Z06s are fast......

Not to hi-jack, but you think 255's are to wide for a 8in wheel?? I only have 17x8's in the front and would like a 245, but of course Toyo doesn't make them.
