Need some advice on fuel situation for my 20B
 

Hey guys, I'm new to this portion of the RX7 Forum but some of you guys may know me. To catch some of those who don't know me up to date here is a brief on what I'm doing.

I'm building a second gen 3 rotor with a Turbonetics T-72 and lots of other go fast parts. Anyway, my question is fuel tank related. I'm building this car for mostly road race and wheel to wheel track racing, with the occasional drag race every now and then. Drag racing only for sport or to get an ET or something. I want to keep the stock fuel tank in for now till I can afford to fab up some type of aluminium cell (way in the future). I'm using an out of tank aeromotive pump, its the big one pumps like 500 gallons/min good for 800 HP on a Turbo engine.

My main concern is running the pump dry. I want to make sure that it always has fuel. I have been thinking of a few courses of action and am looking for any words of wisdom. One plan was to drill a hole in the bottom of the tank right in the middle of where the stock baffle is and then running a steel braided line to the pump. Another plan was to make 2 holes one in the previous spot and another in the rear of the tank on the right side of the car (since the stock baffle is on the left side). Then take the two braided lines into a Y then to the pump. Another Idea was to use the before mentioned hole in the baffle area and to run solid fuel line inside the tank to the left and right rear corners and have them actually attached to the line coming in fom the bottom of the the tank in the baffle.

Let me know what you guys think. I realize some of this might be confusing and a picture is worth a thousand words but this is all I have.

See, if it were me, I'd run a surge tank and dual pumps. Pump the fuel out of the tank into a 2 gal surge tank, and pump from that tank into the engine.

OTOH, I've run my car down to less than 1/4 and no issues with fuel starvation.. I can see how you'd be more concerned with a high dollar engine on boost though.
