need help on car set up(camber)
 

right lads this probaly has been asked but i cant find any answers. im in the middle of fiting derin bushings to the car and am trying to figure out a base setting for the camber angles front and rear. the car is used in the time attack series. what sort of camber should i be running? any other info you need let me know. any help would be great:icon_tup:

the amount of camber you need, depends on the tires. the best way i know of to get it right is to take tire temps...

if thats not really available, howard coleman recommends -1.2 camber all the way around, at about a 25" right height, from the fender to the ground.

wheel diameter changes camber need as does which track you're running, Howard has 18" i think and 10" wide rears, smaller diameter usually = more camber need, his is a street/track car, but the numbers are a good starting place for 18 inchers.......can look at Pettit Racing site for their recomendations as well,

Just for reference (according to HC's thread) I believe the FD suspension gains 3* of negative camber under 2 inches of compression.

thanks for the reply lads. the car is runing 17 by 10s all round with 255s toyo 888s on the back and 245 on the front.

as for the tire temps. i know how to work out the camber acording to the heat of the inside/middle/outside. but just looking for a base line before i head to the track. :icon_tup:

Unless you're running really stiff suspension, I'd start with -2.0 in front and -1.5 or -1.8 in back.
