N/A trany to T2 differential driveshaft
Is the factory S5 n/a driveshaft truly non serviceable? Is the universal joints and differential flange non switchable? I would like to swap in a T2 LSD differential and axle shafts into my S5 n/a and want to know if my only option in the Mazdatrix custom drive shaft;

I think the Mazdatrix driveshaft works the other way. Its for turbo transmission and NA rear end.

No, Mazdatrix now offers them both ways;

you can get the u-joints from rockford driveline to fix the staked variety in the factory d/s. They are $25 ea.
Just re-index the holes on the diff and call it a day...unless you got cash to burn. The only snag you will run into is that the o.d. of the diff center hub may be a tad larger on certain models. nothing a carbide bit on a die grinder can't fix. Ive done it a couple times. One word of caution when punching out the staked joints, you are going to need to deburr the u-joint hole. Don't go crazy with the die grinder as you will make the hole too big and no one likes sliding into a not so tight hole! :lol: |
Rather than going to all that hassle of swapping in a T2 8" differential into my car, I have found a good 1.8L Miata Torsen LSD to swap into my stock 7" differential. And yes I have the needed set of S4 any or S5 open stub axles to work with the Torsen.
