My new Custom front struts FC

How much are they? I want to go a similar route for my FB front strut

Still in R&D stages right now will know more in a few weeks once i get some testing in. The struts are made of Dom tube with a SAE 841 oilite bronze bushing and a wiper seal to keep things clean. Struts can be valve to your cars specs.

Oh cool, Some question I have about them when you are finished. What kind monotube or twin? brand? how high of a spring rate can it handle?

The inserts are Bilstein Mono tube 36mm piston they can be valved for pretty much any spring rate you need.

Looks very nice. Will Ground Control coilover sleeves fit or do you have your own design?

Not really sure on price yet need to add things up. As for coilover sleeves yes GC should fit i used the same sleeve and hat that i had on my stock style struts. I got the parts threw my friends shop A1 Racing.

So yall this is just the bilstien inserts that work in regualr FC tubes, but you made a custom tube instead?

Where they taken apart and revalved? And if so, how did you get the gas back in, I don't see a valve.
I was about to rip apart an insert and see if I couldn't do something in the area around the top stud to install a shrader valve or make a port for an external canister. I was thinking of just replacing the top stud with a bigger one and gun drilling it.

No these aren't the standard FC insert these are Bilstein's heavy duty 36mm piston inserts. The rear I'm running 2 Bilstein SN series take apart shocks. The original plan was to run a remote reservoir so I could just re-valve them. I have an extra insert all setup with a remote reservoir. Due to time restraints looking to get out with the car in a few weeks I just went with sending the inserts to Bilstein to be re-valved to my specs. Plans are to change over to a remote reservoir over the winter. That's one of the reasons the struts are still in the R&D stages.

struts are for my NASA SU fc running 17 by 11" wheels up front just wanted a little extra space for the springs

Ah, do those inserts require a custom tube?

So does moving the strut in like that for wheel clearance have any ill effect on the suspension?

Yes they require a custom tube there a lot larger then the FC insert. No ill effects that i could measure. Camber changes at the same rate as factory when the wheel is turned.

Don't mean to be rude, but isn't this essentially the same setup that AWR has been selling for years? They sell their strut tubes for about $350/pair.

Maybe I've never heard of AWR. I just built these for my car and after some testing if they work good i might sell them. I searched Google and looked at AWR those are just housing you stick a stock insert into. The setup I'm running has a bigger strut and the bushing is built into the housing

The AWR housings also fit the Koni RACE inserts (including the 8611 double adjustable series) which is what I am running.
