Muffler Repacking
 

I figure the Race Car Tech is the best place to ask this, as most people I speak to say they have to repack a muffler after 30 hours of track time, although they aren't rotary guys.

The Question

What kind of stainless steel wool should I use in the repacking of my originally fiberglassed muffler, and how much?

I'm intrested in this as my Krank exhaust has no packing at all and is too loud.

McMaster-Carr used to sell it in one pound packages, now they only have 5 pound packages, # 7364T18 for $59.43 (the Chinese have driven up the pirice of stainless insane)

Okay, so just one pound should be good enough I assume, after looking in various places.

Its just the whole gradiny system is confusing, and coarse fine or medium? Wikipedia to the rescue, I hope.
