Mazda Motorsports Program
Has anyone had any trouble signing up for the program? I sent in my info about 3 weeks ago and havent heard anything from them.

I have been a member since 1995, and they have been very good to me. Lord knows how many thousands of dollars their discounts have saved me in the last 10 years of road racing.
They get pretty busy sometimes. Send them a fax and politely ask if they received your application, and if everything was in order. Did you send them everything they asked for, mainly the official race results sheets and the photos of your race car? |
Call them. Seems the only thing they get lax about is running new memberships through.
|
I've always had luck with faxes. For renewal I fax the crap over and it just gets done.
Since it's been a few weeks give them a call though. The people are very friendly and helpful and will get you fixed up right away. |
i've had problems too..
i faxed them my application at least a month ago, and gave them a call. they said to use the online application, and then call them again after waiting ~30 minutes, and then i should be all set up. however, i have had nothing but problems trying to access their on-line application. have you guys noticed this? maybe their server sucks ass |
Mine took a month and a half.
|
The online catalog sucks too. Call 'em.

On their website it says you can be in the process of "building" your race car. Since its being built I dont have any race results yet. Ill try a fax or calling them tomorrow. |
Their web site does not work well (used to not work at all) with anything other than IE.
I guess it is assumed that racers don't use Mac's or Mozilla |
It took them a little under a month to process my application.
|
Call them. They have a toll free number, and are always helpful on the phone.
|
My application took a while, also.

I've been a member for years, but mine went smooth and they have saved me a fortune as well. I pretty much always fax my stuff, and have had zero problems. I order my parts online and it always comes without a hitch. I've heard that they are very helpful when you call, but to be honest - I've always had such good luck with them that I have never had to talk to anyone on the phone!

Can you guys point me where I might get more information about this? What do they require, what do they provide, etc. etc. Does your car have to NOT be street legal?

I joined last year and it took them about 3 weeks to get back to me.

I sent them my SCCA membership number but not an actual picture of the card. I seem to have lost it. Ill be giving them a call. |
I've found that they are very strict now when it comes to signing up. I was once a member but my FD caught fire a while back so I was not racing. Now that I have the FD all fixed up and racing again, I asked them if I could become a member until my first race, they said nope.
I then mentioned that I saw if you were building a car, they would let you sign up, again they told me no since I was a previous member and I even sent them pics of the burnt car and the rebuild progress, still nope. I then ran the car at an NHRA event in the Sport RWD class and I sent them the results and they immediately signed me back up. I think it's better they are strict on the rules since I do not ever want to lose the membership. Anthony |

Are they going to send out 2006 Calendars? Those calendars are sharp.
|
Ran into Scott with Mazdaspeed over the weekend while looking into a SpecMiata, he says that they are just stupid-busy right now filling other orders and working on the new '06 Spec Miatas with R&D, give it time, they are taking care of applications in the order that they arrive.
