im glad the "LS1 FDs are nose heavy" myth was laid to rest. Its good to see some real numbers. However, the auto x track in the video is a pretty low speed track with tight turns. Meaning the LS1 FD's low end torque definitely gave it an advantage over the rotary in this situation. Also, the sheer torque and low end of the LS1 tends to give the "illusion of speed" with the sucking you to your seat effect, which sometimes makes the car feel faster than it really is. The owner of the stock 7, coming from a car with very little low end torque, may have been basing a lot of his opinion on this. This thread proves yet again, that the LSx vs Rotary argument is merely a matter of opinion, period. |

Is it not safe to say that regardless of airpumps, battery location, downpipes etc that an LS1 FD has no real weight disadvantage compared to an FD with any amount of engine mods? If you think not then I say you're just being argumentative and looking for any excuse to bash the LS1. Every guy I know with some real FD driving experience has been floored by the performance of the LS1 cars. |
