LPG fuel???

Liquified Petroleum Gas....

Any good for racing? It's suppost to be better for the enviroment and I've read (forget the source) it was easier on car engines?

What do you guys know about it? It is easy to come by? I've been told it's cheaper than gas.....

Propane?

I have heard you will see a 1-10% (depending on system) power loss over gasoline. On a rotary I think that you would also have to watch out about auxiliary oil injection, since LPG and oil don't mix. I'm not sure about it's resistance to pre-detonation, but thats another issue important to rotaries.

So, no I haven't given it much thought. But probably not the best solution for racing, specifically given the power loss.

Propane is fun with diesels though!

LPG is very widely used over here in the Netherlands, because it's cheap. The latest systems claim to have the same power as normal gas. In theory it is a good fuel for racing since the octane number is 110. I have not seen it used on rotaries though...

High octane is good for turbo-charged rotaries

High octane is bad, it will make you loose power in naturally aspirated racing rotaries

Yeah, I was thinking of boost...
