Loaded for the first autocross of the season!

I'll tell you what. Fitting everything you need for a day of autocrossing into an FB is a PAIN IN THE ASS:

(would've posted the pics here, but they're too big)

Spec7-- one fiance, one igloo cooler, her overnight bag, my overnight bag, 1 set of four 205/60-13 Toyos (mounted), tool box, jack, jackstands, and a 2-gallon fuel container.........looooong drive to Buttonwillow a few years back hehehe.

My old CSP CRX once held ALL of the posessions of two college guys (me and a buddy of mine) when we drove everything back to his house in Reno one summer....funny, when we unloaded, the pile of stuff was BIGGER than the car! I have a photo, I will have to scan it when I have time :-)

My Merkur XR4Ti once held ALL of my Spec7 parts, including the Autopower cage and 6 mounted tires, all without having to put anything in the passenger seat. That car is my all-time best Hauling vehicle (stuff and @ss).

Earlier this year we used my wife's '97 Accord to deliver 2 Cobra Suzuka GT seats, 4 Cobra LeMans seats, 6 Wedge bases, and 6 Recaro slider sets....they ALLL FIT, and there was even room for my wife!

And they say we wasted all that time playing Tetris.......................

LOL!

The FD sucks for fitting tires into but I'm always surprised about how much you can fit in an FB.

Don't get me started on a C5 'vert.

I cannot get a single tire in the trunk. Not one. :D

Thats priceless !!! One of the first things I bought when I started autocrossing was a trailer and a truck to haul it :D

christaylor 03-24-06 05:14 PM

Hmm....

I'll have to post pictures of my Spec7 ready to go on the trailer later....

4 plastic fold-top boxes, with spares. 2 small boxes, also spares. 3 tool & spare nuts/bolts boxes. 2 5-gallon gas cans. 1 tire (sometimes). 1 air compressor. Jack & 4 jack stands.

And usually I can still drive the car on the trailer with all that stuff. :p:

All that work loading the car, 1 1/2 hour drive, change tires....

Get in line, first run is FAST!!!! Finish run, look for a time.... Timing glitch. No problem, I get a re-run....

Pull up for second run. Launch too low, and bog the car... FOULED A PLUG!!!!!! get back to tools, check toolbox. 70 pounds worth of crap, and I forgot my special spark plug socket(extra thing sidewall to fit in housing). pack everything up, limp home..... grrr.....

How do you like the Hoosier tires? Have the held up and performed well for you?

Lt. Dan 03-27-06 06:53 PM

I love hoosiers... I'd LOVE to be able to afford V710s, but with hoosier having a sale on discontinued tires, I gotta go where the wallet leads...
