who else is interested in this besides me.all anybody ever talks about is autocrossing.im tryin to find what specs ur car has to be in?what kinda tires u hafta use?power to weight ratio?do u have to use yellow colored lights?spoiler adjustments for best downforce?

this is a new subject:i was also thinking about getting into rallying.get like an old awd turbo talon or eclipse.something u can find a dime a dozen and dont care to beat the shit out of it.

no one talks about these kinda races y not?

To run what kind of racing? Road racing? SCCA stuff? Or professional level stuff like ALMS?

I'm assuming you mean ALMS GT.. You realize that most of those cars cost in the area of 100-200K to build? If you can afford that level of racing, you're probably not hanging out on Internet forums during the day :)

I've actually been thinking about buying a 323GTX to build into a rally car. Just something to have fun in. not to be real serious. I'd probably use it as a daily beater.

The hard part is finding a 323GTX. I love watching lemans But my favorite is Trans AM.

hey u know a site to tell me what the regulations on lemans gt is stinkfist?

im very big on road racing like lemans,or daytona.i would love to be part of something.i have a first gen that i bought a imsa wide body kit for its half way installed i now need rims and tires.what are you trying to do??at one time i was thinking of trying to get people intrested in putting some money in to a car and racing in the gt class.like a rx-7 funded by rx-7 lovers or something.

i was actually thinking of going ahead and finishing my car and putting it in the gt races.if i could .i am also in nc ,im in the charlotte area.what do u know about the restrictions as far as horsepower to weight ratio?or anything of that sorts.i was also wanting to be the driver.i ask cuz i see normal cars like the viper or vette running,then i see the gokart style kars out there running against them.there has to be classes or power to weight ratio rule.

I recently acquired an '88 323 GTX. I can't wait to get it running, but I have to take it one project at a time. I wouldn't mind trying some rally, but it seems that no one does that around here.

If you are a new driver you wont be competitive. If you want to run ALMS GT I hope you are very rich. Or have very rich friends lol. You need to start small in the SCCA or somthing simalar and get the experiance driving a racecar. Work your way up from club racing then into one of the SCCA PRO racing series. If your a good driver and finish well you will become more known and able to get rides or sponsors much easier. I know it seems like there is not much to thoes GT cars you see on TV but the amount of money work and preperation put into thoes cars is crazy. I crew for a team that runs a GT-1 car in amature SCCA racing. Our GT-1 car is basicly a TransAm car. It takes us around one week prep to get the car for a track. The driver and owner is a friends stepdad he has been racing for 30+ years. He has done CanAm and a few other pro series races. We want to run TransAm or Grand American but due to the cost to do one race, we could do about 2 or 3 pro races a year. Then our budget would be gone. Racing is very expensive and to be a driver it takes alot of practice. I will be taking drivers school next spring to recive my novice license so I can get my genral comp. license.

thanx for the info.i know about the money situation.and driver experience. i can keep great conrol of car but i will take classes.goin to a formula one school as one of them.then i am also starting to race ducatis here in another yr or so.ill be racing fusa and might try ama.
