ITS Camber Adjustment
 

Under ITS rules, I can see that camber/caster plates are allowed in the front, but I'm not quite following which aftermarket products we can use to dial out rear camber?

Any form of camber adjustment is free. The FC RX has a weird way of doing it and it isn't listed specifically but the general rule is just do it as long as that is the only thing you are accomplishing.

The vertical camber link or the individual links on the control arms are all fine.

Really? What about having both on there for maximum camber adjustability? Would that ring any suspect alarms?

If you go with the Flatout adjusters, check with other racers (or tech inspectors) in your area to see if its an allowed part. In some areas its allowed, in others it is apparently not.

I know about this first hand. There is no legal way to adjust camber on an ITS RX7 that has been discovered yet. Everyone does the single bar or individual camber links. I even had a tech inspector fabricate me some "closer to legal" ones that I stupidly agreed to let him do and pay $150. Needless to say they did not work to my satisfaction. He flipped when I had individual links. I had another inspector tell me to run the single bar and tell anyone to screw off who has a problem with it.

I use the single link bar now, it's illegal. Protest me, I don't care, it's the only way to adjust camber. The single adjuster is not breaking the rule as much as individual adjusters - one illegal part or 2 illegal parts (each adjuster).

EDIT: My comments solely relate to rear camber. Front camber is legal with camber plates.

I've seen so many cars with some form of camber adjustment back there I never sat down and read the rule word for word! The intent to let you do something is all over the place, the design itself just isn't covered exactly.

I'd write a letter to the CRB to get a clarification, until then you could probably knock out most of the FC's in the field by protesting. The other option is to join them and don't worry about it until they clarify.

I'd think the individual ones would be more legal than the central bar, because with the individual ones you're not changing the geometry, just the camber. When you adjust using the central link you're moving the inner pivot point for the toe links, as that and the outer pivot on the control arm are what defines the motion of the arm, the "dog bone" link that the individual adjusters are replacing only affect the inclination of the arm and therefore camber without really changing anything else. Moving the inner pivot points will affect the roll center and the camber curve, which aren't what the rules are intending that you do. That's my $0.02.
