Those of you building race cars that aren't going to be ready for a log book by 1/1/03, need to read the new rules regarding roll cage construction

Specifically, the rules now requiring NASCAR style door bar protection on the drivers side.

Additionally, rules now require DOM tubing, ERW is no longer permitted.

Read these rules carefully, there may be more things listed that I haven't yet noted as significant..

Careful, Silk, I think I only see the requirement of NASCAR door bars in the Touring section.

You are correct about the use of ERW tubing though.

Silkworm 09-14-02 12:44 AM

Um, we use touring rules, as I recall.. According to GCR 18.2, the rules list cages as Showroom Stock/Touring. Unless something changes to break those apart, those are the rules we conform to..

I think what the Fastrack has done is actually separate the two. I will be interesting to see what happens.

Glad to hear it's running again :)

To put your picture in the sig, you need a very small copy of your picture. Send me a copy and I'll shrink it for you.
