JICs are a nice way to go for a dual purpose car. FWIW they all are adjustable coilovers ;)

it realy depends on how much you want to spend.

you arent really providing enough info on how the setup is going to be used.... do you want to be comfortable when you arent on the track? do you want to spend alot or a little? are you going to try and be competitive? bla bla bla try and tell us what you want to do, then you will eventually end up answering it for yourself.....

But for the others, the amount I have to spend is not important. I can afford both. I'm just wondering if I need a full 15-way adjustable shocks and springs if i just go to the track once in a lifetime? I just want it to feel better than stock playing on the road.

I see people like jimlab having JIC's. I wouldn't think someone would need this unless you're competing right?

If you're not on the track, don't go spending mega bucks on a trick suspension, it's a waste of money. The adjustability is nice to have for the track, you can tweak the balance of the car, but on the street, I'd be more concerned with longevity, some of these expensive shocks need to be rebuilt often, and you're going to see far harsher conditions on the street than you would on the track.

After reading your question IMO there was not enough info there to give you a good answer. Rather than repeating what someone else said I referred you to his post.

First, all the set-ups you mentioned are adjustable coilovers(thus the possible flame). Second, I not only answered your question(by stating ' JICs"), but gave you a specific product that will meet your needs(either model offered will work well). None of the products you mention constitute a complete suspension. The JICs are more durable than the Teins, thus better for a daily driver. Most owners of the JIC feel that they give you near stock ride at their softest setting, and good track performance at the stiffer settings. If you will rarely track the car, the HKS have excellent build quality, but are too soft for serious track work. For the Tein, and the JIC, there are various choices depending on what you plan to do. If you choose JIC, then look at the SA-1 as entry level, and the FLTA2 as the better quality part with greater adjustability, but higher spring rates.

1.Well no duh they are adjustable. My question is should i just get coils or a whole adjustable suspension system? The JIC's are adjustable shocks also. See the difference. So I see no flame.

I have a few things to add.

Number 1: Your ignorance of another member doesn't automatically make him a "new guy" and even then if you think all new guys are idiots than I feel you're mistaken. Post count and knowledgable experience have nothing to do with eachother. Am I six times smarter than you since I have that many more posts?

Number 2: "Carl Byck" and "in2twins" are the same person. Notice how "in2twins" signs with the name of "Carl".

Number 3: The majority of Carl's posts are here in the race section or in the suspension section. His profile says he averages just over a post a day the same as you and he has been registered longer. If you have never heard of him you must not read in these sections very much.

Number 4: No need to bow down to anyone at anytime, but when asking a question from which you hope to get others' advice I would not let my own ego automatically make me disregard what anyone has to say.

Number 5: When I type in "adjustable coilover" into the search function I get 150 hits. If I didn't want to hear what anyone else had to say I would have searched and not asked in the first place.

Jimlab has JICs (see, I can refer to someone in the third person just like duboisr does) because jimlab needed the ride height adjustability of a coilover to compensate for weight reduction, liked the double adjustable feature of the JICs (ride height can be set independent of spring preload), liked the color, liked the price, and liked the fact that they wouldn't rattle like skeletons fucking on a tin roof like the Ground Control conversion kit apparently can.

Jimlab currently has no intention of competing in any structured or sanctioned form of racing.

Actually DamonB I have been registered longer. I was registereduder a different name "im4u" registered in 2001.

I could pretty much see he was the same guy but i still do not pay attention to him.
