I found some cheap race tires.
I posted this over in the tire/wheel/break forum, and I did not get any responses; I don’t think they are hardcore enough there to run real race tires. Please take a look at the post.
https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/silverstone-s585-tarmac-tire-520843/ In short, I do a lot of autoXing and soloII style events over the summer and I found these tire which seem to be about $100 cheaper then a set of same sized kumhos from tirerack. Yeah, these tires arnt very wide, but the price seems really good and I have wheels that will fit these perfectly. I know I can get away with running these at small autoX events, but I'm not sure how they are going to class me at the soloII style events I go to because they are not DOT. Has anyone else had experience with these? |
Stock class you can run any kind or size of tire as long as they fit on a rim of the same size as stock with I think a 25% difference in offset.

You'd need to be in Prepared or higher to run non-DOT tires.
