But I know this isn't an effective cooling system:

The only thing I undid in that picture after removing the engine from the car is loosen the hose clamps.

I mean, that doesn't even require rotary knowledge, does it?

It's fine for a stock 12A that lives in a northern climate and never gets near redline on it's weekly cruise to the ice cream shop.

Also, this setup eliminated the leaks common to the big-oil-cooler-with-cheap-hoses on previous years.


But if you want to go a-racing...

Golly, I must not have been doing something correct while I did some open practice days & 36 races in 4 years with a Spec7 using that exact oil cooler. & it's known to get HOT & HUMID in WI., IN., Ohio, Mo. in the summer time.

Ha, lol. I'll bet that coolant keeps the oil cooler nice and cool.;)

LOL... I thought the same thing at first David... looked ok to me until I noticed that it's basically a closed, high pressure system ;) or a big huge air bubble with no way to purge.
