DAmon- How's the Geez! working out for you?

I autocrossed yesterday and I'm really wishing I had something like Geez! to improve my game. There were two corners that I *thought* I could go faster, but I didn't want to blow it as they were fairly fast (~50 MPH) sweepers... A mistake there would be a lot of cone bashing. :D
And I spun the car, too- so I could calibrate the max traciton to that point. :bash:

Is it expensive? I tried to look for a link to use it. or get it, I may get into auto x since track looks way to expensive for me right now.

It's $395, not including the palm pilot or PC computer.

And it works just as well for AutoX or RR applications. In fact, they're coming out with software so you can do drag race times with hp/tq calculations!

I have seen definite improvements since I started using Geez. It certainly won't make me a better driver just by having it in the car but it points out right away where I am underperforming. It's not a magic bullet but put together with some careful thought and analysis it's led me to make some slight changes in how I attack certain areas as I can purposely drive sections differently on successive runs and see how that effects other areas of the course. I may not know why I am underperforming in an area but at least I know I am underperforming. Once you know where you have a problem you can try and figure out how to fix it.

I wouldn't bother with Geez until I felt I could drive consistently (I feel it's of little use to noobs) or until after gaining some instruction and experience. Once you understand the car and what driving really is a chassis datalogger such as Geez can help you continue to extract more from yourself and the vehicle.

I also find it useful for gauging my real performance as I can look at my history. Sometimes when I have thought I drove poorly Geez has shown I was at least as good as previously and sometimes when I thought I drove superbly Geez has shown that one area I still could have pushed harder. It helps me a great deal but it takes a certain mindset to make use of it, otherwise it's just a neat computer "game".

...I have not been updating the thread lately with new Geez plots since the forum isn't uploading...

ahh cool, well I guess I'll invest those 395 into more track time, like Damon said. Damon use www.freepichosting.com to upload pics. Its free and pretty good. Thanks for the Tips

Thanks Damon- that's pretty much what I was looking for. Looks like I need to update my "this money is earmarked for the car" fund. It keeps evaporating. :bash:
