With this announcement I would be willing to try an S/4 bodied/ S/5 powered FC in CSP. It definately will change the face of Street Prepared and Street Mod classes.

I would actually like to try some on my FD in ASP if 15"s rims would fit over the brakes. It would certainly help it get out of the corners with the stock gearing.

Anyone have any thoughts on the new tires.

I'll probably try them -- I'm prepping my '89 GTU for CSP. I'll likely go with 15"x10" Diamond steelies (about 18lbs/ea). Should work better than the 225/50-15 V710 in terms of width and gearing.

I don't think you could fit a 15x10 wheel in the rear without touching the trailing arms.

you can run 10's in the back of an FC with rolled fenders.

it wont hit the trail arm if you push the wheel out enough, but thats why you roll the fenders.

With the right offset anything is posible. Remember 15.2-A "fenders may be modified for tire clearance" I was just thinking the car in CSP that probably has the most to gain from this tire is the SRT-4 if it can fit 15"s.

Damn Finky! If you're coming to CSP then I might as well turbo my car and go to SM2. lol. As it is, the only chance I have for a win is if a few certain individuals fail to show up for the race. :)

Looking forward to seeing you at the races again either way though...

My brother and I run our '80 in CSP for the Pa Hill Climb series. We're looking at Hankooks for next season. They are one of the series sponsors and a local dealer offered us a good deal on them. Our biggest competitor is a Pontiac Fiero GT (V6).

The tires we're talking about are only 22.9" diameter...with the right backspace on the wheels there will be plenty of room to the inside of the wheel and I shouldn't have to worry too much about the fender lip.

The problem is not the diameter. It's that the trailing arms are closer to the wheel when it is smaller.

Like some others have said, you can fix that by using spacers.

Ack...please, no spacers ;-).

I'll be getting some custom-backspace wheels from Diamond. I haven't done any of the measurements yet (the car is torn apart right now getting new bushings, bearings, diff mounts, etc.), but I'm guessing somewhere around 5" of backspace should work. I'd like to get away with more (wheel pushed less outward), but it all depends on the measurements.
