Hey 1st Gen. road race guys, what air dam do you use if any?

I am looking for front air dams for my '84 race car and was wondering what kind people use. I want to cut the amount of air under the car. I found this pic...but don't know anything about it. A flexible one would be best since the car sits so low. Any ideas?

Oops...forgot to attach the pic!

Here it is...

That looks like an ISC Racing Services air dam. I bought one for my 1st IT RX7 and it was a nice unit.... except that we had to remove it every time we wanted to load/unload the car, but 4 dzus fasteners made that job a lot easier. Nice unit overall.

On my current IT7 car, I just went with an 84/5 stock lower bumper. Victoria British also carries a flexable airdam that alot of guys run, but I've got no experiance with those.

I may actually make my own and see what I can come up with.

I found this one on ebay...think it would be good for racing applications, or only for street?

That looks to be close to what Victoria British sells.... add some brake cooling ducts and it would work for a race application. The things you have to watch out for rule wise is that it doesn't stick out past the leading edge of the bumper and that it's above the lowest part of the rims.

From what I've heard of the flexable airdams, you have to add a support of some sort in the middle or they'll sag when they get warm or at speed.

Has anyone used one of the fiberglass ones? My concern about that is the car sits so low, and fiberglass tends to just break instead of giving when hitting corner curbs.
