lol, cars are so complex.... i bet that is exactly what is happening. at the 25 we have 2 hour stints, so everything gets a chance to heat soak, and more than half of the race is in the dark, so we get to see the rotors glowing too.

the miata has only done sprints, so i'm sure its not up to temp.

Hawk blues are great....for 20 year old materials science and chemical engineering. There have been lots of improvements over the years...

The hawk DTC stuff is decent, ive not personally had any luck with carbotech for some reason i find they glaze to easily....but, once you try PFC and Cobalt drivers don't tend to go back to hawk and carbotech.

The only drawback i've found with Cobalt stuff is once you get below about half thickness you have to change them out because they like to come apart when they get thin....literally they crumble and fall apart.

I alternate the pads (inside/out) after each event which reduces this.. I've found if I don't alternate them, that does happen and they can begin breaking up before their pad life should be done.
