GT2/3 Weights SCCA

Can some one tell me what the weight is down to on the SCCA GT3 with 48 IDA is?
Gt2 I recall was getting down to 1750 or 1800 lbs.
Thanks

2080 unless they have lowered it in Fasttrack.

Edit: I just checked fasttrack looks like its still 2080lbs.

I wondering if the FD shell can be cut down a caged and stay to weight.
The old tub/tube chasis stuff. I feel the hydroform chasis is pretty good and light and suspension design OK but can be tweaked.I can get a flooded chasis here because they can not be resold to the street by law.
Lexan and some fiber glass wil go a ways...

would make a fine regional car, but it will cost serious money to get it even close to the minimum weight. A well driven and prepared tube chassis car will be substantially quicker.

Yes I thought that. I had the old John Finger/ Mike Green GT2/3 car. Made the run off pole in 89 but I went to campaign it many years later and the wieghts were way down and the tube chasis was the only thing close nationally.
Thanks Tim
DAMN........

If your serious about a GT2 or 3 car it would likely cost the same to get a nationally competitive car so there is really no reason not to build the pure race car. There is a guy here in Southern California that has a GT2 3rd gen that he built over a couple of years and with the time and money he has in that car he could have bought himself a Porsche GT3 cup car(GT2 legal) and had some cash left over. The RX7 is beautiful, very well done, and very fast, but it cost about the same to get it that way. Look through some of the want ads for race cars there are alot of potential cars out there.
