Fuel cell
 

Anyone using a fuel cell in the stock location on a 3rd gen? Or anywhere for that matter? I'm looking for a larger one for road racing not drag. Any weird fittment issues?

what I have seen people do is essentially cut out the rear section of the floor from the shock towers back, build a frame for the fuel cell. weld the frame into the car and fill the remaining area around the fuel cell with aluminum plate. I have also seen custom bladders that were built so cell could be mounted behind the drivers area so the cell would be more centrally located. this is very nice but requires alot of metal fabrication and a very expensive custom made bladder for the cell

There's actually some company in Japan that makes a special cell that fits where the bins normally go. This puts the weight in front of the rear axle.

Cons: It's expensive, it probably needs to be fitted before cage construction, and some sort of firewall will have to be put in to separate the driver from it. You really couldn't use this in a street car at all.

I believe Cam Worth has this cell in his car.

I have seen this setup before and it is very expensive and the cell was covered in a nice sheet aluminum cabinet. the off the shelf rectangular cell is the most widely used model though. cut out the rear area and build the support frame and cover the top of the cell will aluminum or sheet metal.
