Front bumper retention...
 

Ok, so to all you track guys, what do you use to keep your bumpers on and still give you easy, quick removal? Zip ties, hood pins, etc. I have seen different people using different things at different events but is there something made specifically for this? Thanks.

Since I'm running a FMIC I don't have any bumper support or anything, so all that's holding my bumper cover on is two 10mm bolts on the TOP and then two nuts on each side where it bolts into the fenders. Although this is only my temporary solution (I want to make sure I have easy access if my FMIC couplings pop-off), this is how I currently roll... I could have my bumper off in about 5 minutes or so. :dunno:

Zip ties is pretty ghetto and you wouldn't be able to get the bumper tight to the fenders.

If you want easy access into the inside of the fenders (where the 10mm nuts are that hold the bumper on), make sure you have your wheels turned all the way to one side. This will allow you to "peel back" the fenders inner lining (in the wheel well), while giving you easy access to reach behind there to undo the 10mm nuts. A deep 10mm socket and several long extensions should give you enough clearance to initially remove these nuts. However after this, just finger tighten them, so that next time you can just reach in with only the 10mm deep socket and just undo them only using that...

Thats seems more than adequate for me... Cause I just tried holding my bumper on with zip ties, but it was really saggy and looked really gay. I will just do as you say since it seems more than reasonable to be able to get it on/off in 5min or less. Thanks.

If you take your bumper on and off as much as you say you are, leave it stock set-up minus a few bolts along the bottom. Trust me, you'll get pretty quick at it.

dzus fasteners are a bitch to setup, but get once they are on, and easy to use

I use Dzus fasteners. Like Turbo23 said, they are not easy to set up, but once in place they are very fast for removal and replacement.
