So how do you intend to ship bare wheels with no tires to protect the wheels from being dinged? It's a long way from the west coast?!

I have a buddy with a shop, he is putting some wheel boxes aside for me. Basicly, shrinkwrap the wheels, wadded up shrink in the box. S/B no problem, of course I will insure for new replacement value at my expense. You know you should save yourself a fortune, and buy these wheels...............................:) I will guarantee the condition of the wheels in writing, and with photos if neccesary. Help me find a home for these so I can buy wheels that actually fit my car. I do like the BBS, but that's alot of money...

So these wheels did not fit your FC race car?

Carl Byck 03-08-03 10:28 AM

No, the rear just barely fits, the front is not even close. Tripoint recomended a 17x10 5"(275) back space front, and a 17x11 5"(315) backspace rear. You could go bigger in the rear, but I like the idea of being able to put 275s on the rear if I have to, and 11 is max for that tire. I am trying some of the porsche websites for wheels, they seem to have good deals on kinesis rims . The sizes are right, but the offsets are wrong. I'm hoping they can swing a deal with the different offsets. Most of their kinesis wheels are around 2500.00 for all four. I am tring to find something for 2000.00 or less though. I am also looking at the corvette/mustang sites, their wheels in that size but not offset are less than 300.00 a piece. It's crazy, we have to spend 2500.00, and a corvette guy can spend 1200.00 for the same size wheels. I realize there are other factors, quality, weight etc, but I wish we had a choice.
Regards, Carl

Damn, that's barely any offset! Pretty close to the wheel's centerline! FWIW, the offsets work out to: -0.5 inch for the 10 x 17, and -1 inch for 11 x 17, IF back spaces for both 10 and 11 wides are 5 inches. I assume you have a HUGE fender flares! Yeah, the forgelines have +50 mm offsets, ~7.22 inch back spaces, no way they'd fit on an FC, and believably impossible on the FC's front!

Good luck!

The flares are roughly 4.5" wider than stock. Thats a mere 9" added to the width of the car! That should be all kinds of fun at the local autocross ;) I'm checking CCW, Braid, Kodiak, Kinesis, and Forgeline. At this point I'm just looking for wheels to fit my budget, if they fit the car that's a bonus :). Looks like 2000.00+/- no matter what I do, Oh well I guess we pay to play...

so u already have wide body kit from tri point? what calss u will ruing in SOLO2?? I am runing FP now with my PP FC

Carl Byck 03-11-03 11:56 PM

I am installing the kit now, as well as a limited production front bumper from rotary extreme. In solo2 I would be BP, I beleive we've been booted from FP due to someone dominating last year in the old Tripoint FP car. I race in an unlimited class in road racing. I will run275-40s in the front, and either 315s, or 335s in the rear on 11.5", or 13" rims Carl
