Hey, I just realized you have an FC. How do you know the Forgelines will fit an FD? I thought the offsets for FC and FD were radically different. The FC has more negative offset (smaller) than FD? Just curious. Good luck!

They came off an FD, the original owner told me that they were a 5.5" backspacing, turns out he can't measure very well. They were on his FD before he sold them to me. If they don't sell, he will take them back. I'm actually doing him a favor trying to sell them so he doesn't eat the shipping.

Yeah 5.5 inch back space is impossible with 9.5 wide and 50 mm offset. Back space has to be ~7.22 inches, which is what the limit is to fit up front on an FD Rx7 with stock style 4-inch outer diameter coil springs. How do you figure the RSes are a year old, if you were not the original owner of the wheels?

Carl Byck 03-07-03 09:10 PM

This is what I was told by the previous owner, so I guess it is his word, If that is an important detail, I will try to get a reciept from him. I think the condition of the wheels speak for themselves. I am a straight up guy, I think what is important is that the wheels are in excellent condition, and that I will give any buyer a money back guarantee as to condition of the wheels. That is a big risk on my part since I would eat shipping.

Manny, you are being pretty tough on me for a guy who isn't interested in buying ;) Anyway, someone will get a good deal,at 1400.00 they are at least a grand less than they would cost new including shipping, open lug adder etc. I will be paying somewhere north of 2500.00 for my new wheels, if I could use these I'd be luvin life.
Regards, Carl

Eric, Tom, Ken, you've got mail

Carl Byck 03-10-03 07:34 PM

To anyone considering, I polished the curb rash out on the one rim, You cannot tell it was ever scraped. Carl

SleepR1 03-11-03 06:18 PM

So there's no clearcoat on the RSes, only polished?

Carl Byck 03-11-03 09:38 PM

YUP, The good thing is any damage can be polished out, the bad is they are more work to keep looking nice. Are the CCWs clear coated?

SleepR1 03-12-03 05:26 AM

Nope same...polish only, unless you get powder coated centers. Two center colors available, Titanium Silver and Black. The rims will still be polished.

Steve Schardt (Forgeline CEO) offers his wheels with clearcoat, but he says that sometimes the clearcoat yellows from the heat under heavy track use, and that it's harder to repair with the clearcoat if the wheel is curbed (like you just posted).
