woot heavyer is better....helps keep the boost up....the rpms do not fall off as fast..it might take a lil bit more to get it up but once its up it stays up.......and they are strong

every1 has there own thought on light weight flywheels...if you talk to hot rod guys they all use the heavyer flywheels

most ppl think a light weight flywheel will give them more hp..this is not ture it add to your HP in no way at all

drag car

jgrewe 05-10-06 07:13 PM

Drag car is the only correct answer here. I you are trying to accelerate your car from a low RPM to high RPM lighter is better. In drag racing you use the flywheel to store energy for a violent launch once per run. Once that energy is used up the heavy flywheel hurts acceleration, it just helps so much for the launch it is better overall.
A light flywheel doesn't add HP it only allows you to use more of the power the engine is making to accelerate the car. So more power makes it to the wheels instead of working to spin up the flywheel.

Not from factory.

You'll need to have a custom one built.
