Flat-shifting
haven't really ever looked into this very much.......but now that i work at a shop that deals with alot of subaru's i've noticed that more and more of them are running AEM standalones with the flat shifting option set up. does anyone on here use somthing similar for drag racing? i'd think with our larger turbo's it could probably make a decent difference in E.T time. and lastly, is there anything "bad" about doing somthing like this? the systems they are using cuts spark

i flat shift using my msd rev limiter. it cuts the spark at 6800rpms and i never lift my foot off until i'm done. this is in my v8 rx7. it's very very hard on the drivetrain, but makes a noticable difference in my times.

It also works nicely as an anti lag device. Really hard on the turbo, though. |
