Alright its a couple weeks late (race was Apr 1st) but in my defense Ive been playing with radiators and class changes :) (for the record first weekend Ive had a camera so angle isnt the best but...)

Nice start to the season. I don't like rovals that much, but PPIR looks to have a couple fun turns. I assume you're running Spec 7. What "class changes" are you considering?

I don't know what camera you're using, but if the angle is wide enough I prefer mounting to the rollcage so I can see out the window as well as my jittery hands that are all over the place rather than being smooth. :nod:

Here's some video of mine with a GoPro Hero shot at Willow Springs in February...pay no attention to the poor quality and dark interior (I dumbed-down the video from hi-def original a little too much). The point is, by seeing the driver's hands you can better tell what's going on with the car.

Class changes Im considering is changing to STL vs Spec7. Camera is a GoPro (last version before they came out with the GoPro 2) main reasson I put it there versus the cage is that Ive never seen a video from that angle in a car with a roof that I liked, seems between the roof and dash you cut out a lot of the forward track view and then in most cases you either cant see the inside or the outside due to lighting/focus. Persomally I think to get good in car video for both entertainment and driver development I feel you need at least 2 cameras, one for outside foward view and one for interior.

While Ill be the first to admit PPIR isnt necesarily my favorite course its definatly a good one but then Ive yet to find a track I dont like as they all have their own unique challanges/fun bits

If you're considering a complete class change, consider STU. STU allows the stock Renesis to run at 2,300#. Or, street port a 13B and it runs at 2,300# as well. If you go the 13B route, you can also run EP if you want to try slicks.

I considered STL at one point, but with rotaries it seems to cost about the same to run STL as it does STU -- and STU is so much faster. That said, if you have more STL cars in your area, the racing would be more fun. In my area, we have 7 STU cars registered for the race this weekend and 8 STL cars, but many of the STL cars are just double-dipping Spec Miatas.

Main resson Im thinking STL is becuase I want to keep it basiclly a S7 however since I broke the radiator bracket last race it was cheaper to get an Aluminum radiator (illegal in S7 here). As far as car counts for STL vs STU, we have 0 STLs normally (1 all of last sesson and that was a SM) and STU occasionaly gets a Honda Civic which my car (in current config at least) has no chance of even coming close to (think 3-7sec per lap at least). In this division if you want closed wheel with decent car counts you have to go with either S7 or SM (and counting just regional days S7 is by far the #1 in division in both open and closed but with only a 5-7 avg car count)
