First gen in CSP
 

Ok so I am about to run my new first gen in CSP. I am wondering on suggestions to further prepare myself to the fullest extent of the rules.

Has full exhaust, no emissions, webber carb, hawk hp pads, ss front lines, tokiko blue shocks, front strut tower bar, panasport 15x7 rims, falken azenis sport tires, racing beat springs, and some weight reduction.

The car is a GS, it should have an lsd either with or without rear discs by the time I race it. I know adjustable shocks are a good idea too. I have raced a full season of autocross as well as stock car racing, ice racing, and a smidge of road course racing. What all do you guys think I should do to further prep the car for some semi-serious CSP competition???

on top of the book....

1st. TIRES. You're gonna get waxed in your class if you aren't running r-compound tires before anything else.

2nd, shocks/springs (illuminas and ground control)

3rd, ditch the rear sway bar and get the BIG front one 1 1/8"

4th, strut tower bar
5th panhard bar if you're gonna build a mostly track car, or have a very tolerant ass.

that's good for suspension...

for go power?
you've got the exhaust,
you've got the carb,
so about all that's left is to sart chucking ectra stuff. (PS, AC, go to elec fan etc)

that's really about the limits to what you can do in CSP...

BUT, before you spend your $$$ go take a drivers school... Much more advantageous than car parts to your lap times.

Like eric said tires will help a lot.

i think 13x8 wheels with hoosier's work really good. the small tire dia helps coming out of the corners. you might want to consider a light flywheel as well.

csp is a tough class, you need all the edge you can get.

Tires are the first thing... as wide as you can fit.
I'd also look into a set of double adjustable Konis, or Ground Control's Advanced Design strut.
camber plates
ultra light weight seats
You'd have to check the rules... but if you were going all out you could swap in a 13b and have a programable ecu. That would really help in the power department. The SP update-backdate rule could help you a lot.
But it's going to be tough against the Miatas and CRXs.

After all the listed mods, the most important thing is seat time. Nothing will take the place of seat time. Look for drivers schools and small clubs that will allow you more time behind the wheel. I am in a small club and a couple times a year we have "meetings at the track." This ends up being four hours on an autocross track (40 runs) with differnt folks helping to tune your driving.
