FIA seats and sliders...

So I'm on a crew that is building an Integra for 24 hours of LeMons. Yeah yeah I know, but we got the car real cheap. Anyway, here's my question... because we have several drivers of varying heights, we're thinking of using an FIA seat on sliders so that we don't need an adjustable seat back brace.

However, every time I've tried to put an FIA seat with side mounts in a car it's been too high unless we bolted it right to the floor with no sliders, and even then it's been pushing it. Are their any particular brands or combinations of bits that are lower than others?

IIRC, Bride has some so called low mounting rails:

I don't know if they will be low enough for your needs.

An idea from observation from my side mount install on the 7:

When you've installed side mounts in the past, have you been able to get the bottom of seat to touch the slider? A lot of side mount brackets that I've seen mount the seat rather high off the slider. Maybe custom brackets? In my 7, I have my Corbeau FX1 side mounted on stock sliders, and with the seat pad out i sit noticeably lower than stock (enough that I can sit in the car with a helmet on top up. 6ft in a vert...) but i had to work at finding brackets that got the seat bottom damn near resting on the slider.

If that's not your problem, or doesn't help, then, uh, I dunno.

Lose the lateral rails, air chisel them out, reinforce the floor and then try the sliders, should buy you 1-2 inches.
